I do love a good buy-it-once product whether they are buy-it-for-life physical goods or an app which you buy once and gives you value for as long as you want.
Here are my 3 favourite examples of this.
Things 3, $49.99 for the Mac, $14.99 for the iPad, and $9.99 for the iPhone — The mighty, mighty, iOS-only app by Cultured Code. If you haven’t taken the plunge, you must have at least heard about it. I keep returning to this to-do app as my daily go-to for its super clean, easy-to-navigate, and user-friendly interface. Nothing is quite like Things 3, no matter how many other to-do apps have come out after it. The price is not so bad when you compare it with products that require a subscription to realise that there is value here. Like a Japanese strawberry, it may cost you, but you will be happier for it.
Forest, on iOS $3.99 — Yes, it is just a pomodoro that offers in-app purchases, but it is just great as it is. Unlike the more boring pomodoro apps (yes, I know they are not meant to entertain), Forest provides you with a peaceful, meaningful reason to get your work done.
