I really hate spending a lot of money. Justification of our spending habits is something 99.9% of us probably have to go through, and the higher the value, the more consideration you should really give it.
But sometimes there are surprises. The things that turned out to be well worth it and more. Here are a few of mine.
(1) High-end gaming PC £2,500 and up — I have always been a big PC guy, and there is a sharp upwards curve towards the top end of gaming PCs in particular. But originally, I just didn’t get it and I could not comprehend how I could justify the GPU costing as much as the entire rest of the system or more. It just didn’t seem reasonable to me, but like with everything, sometimes you need to just try it. Now, 12 years in, I am well and truly committed to the higher end and thus higher cost. I see the benefits, enjoy them, and feel like I can never go back to a cheaper PC. Yes, I probably could in a desperate situation, but boy would I miss it.
