They are not new year’s resolutions. I promise. I think.
New year’s resolutions seem like more of a joke than something people actually stick by. A vague intention that is often forgotten by the end of January.
In fact, I can only really remember one that I made a couple of years ago which was to not take part in idle gossip and simply say less, except to my children.
This only came about due to a fairly recent issue which I thought would have best been served with the stoicism of a war-time grandparent listening to grand children blabber on about their discovery in the garden.
I think this is a fairly noble resolution.
Not too common, not too unrealistic, certainly for the better.
However, I can’t say this worked out perfectly but it is still in my mind and still something I strive for.
The building of actual habits with a plan or strategy is something we can implement and hope to not throw away so quickly. So let’s get to it.
