5 Products That You Should Never Try

Better is definitely subjective, but I am generally speaking about where you can make significant improvements by using a better service or product, which is almost always going to cost more.

But sometimes, you may just be better off not knowing and staying ignorant. Sometimes these improvements make the lesser product seem far worse than it actually is by realigning your perspective, and perspective can be the difference between happiness and misery.

So let us take a look at the list and see what I have picked.

(1) 144Hz to 60Hz refresh rate on screens — This is a real game changer for some people, but in truth, I think more people would be better off never knowing how good it gets above 60Hz. The difference is just as significant on mobile devices as on computer screens, but it is not instantaneous for most. It can take a little while to notice the difference, and often you will only adjust to the difference by switching back to the slower 60Hz screen after a period of use. But once you have moved up to 90, 120 or ideally 144Hz, it is very annoying to use anything slower. So if you don’t want to see how good screens can be, just don’t try anything faster than 60Hz or your wallet won’t thank you.

(2) Spotify vs. Qobuz, Deezer or Tidal — The sound quality of Spotify is and always has been, terrible. The truth is, I just didn’t know it and perhaps, neither do you. This is the kind of thing you need to spend a little time on testing, so just listening to a few pieces of music here and there won’t make a difference. But if you really give the higher-fidelity music streaming apps their time, your ears will magically adjust to their new surroundings, and going back to lower fidelity will become obvious. Perhaps this is why you shouldn’t even bother testing alternatives because of this. Perhaps keeping your head in the sand will be better for your finances.
