8 Chrome Extensions and Firefox Addons I Use Daily

It was something of a revelation to me when I first discovered that extensions in web browsers were a thing. I viewed this as adding an app within a browser, which much of the time ran with automation. These just seemed incredible, like home automation, but they are actually useful. So many years later, I’ve removed a lot, tried a lot, and use a few on a daily basis.

So let us take a look at the 7 winners from me.

1. Bitwarden password manager

Oh boy, would I be miserable without this? Yes, you can run it in the background on your Mac or PC, but it is just not as seamless as having it in your browser, pin, password, or fingerprint protected, automatically filling in your details as the page loads.

No, saving everything to your browser and having that fill in your details is not the same and is far less secure. For goodness sake, just use a password manager already for goodness sake until passwords, hopefully, become a thing of the past.

2. Neeva Search + Protect

I have been using the Neeva search for some time now, and I really like it. Neeva is an ad-free, private search engine, completely the opposite of Google. But I don’t think that you quite appreciate how good Google is until you use alternative search engines, yet Neeva is really the best of the rest for me. My time spent with DuckDuckGo was good, but the results were sometimes lacking, and Neeva seems to be better in this area.

By distancing myself from using everything under the umbrella of one provider (Apple, Google and Amazon) and spreading out into more independent providers, I feel better and find the experience of exploring new products and services to find the…
