Member-only story
Habits and habit tracking are well covered by apps, productivity gurus and pretty much anyone caring to make a change.
It is noble to try to improve, little by little to the point where you no longer need to be prompted to do something positive. It becomes natural.
Whether you try to use a designated app, reminders or something on paper, it does not matter. What matters is to layout out the new habits you want to build and have a system to prompt, prod, encourage or goad you into the habit.
Habit stacking can help you further.
Let us say that you want to:
- Take vitamins
- Exercise
- Read
- Write an article
Now I can see some potential synergy or stacking here already.
Vitamins followed immediately while writing.
Exercise while listening to an audiobook.
Read and then immediately do my exercise, processing what you have read.
Write after exercise after processing ideas.
The basic point is trying to get these habits done either at the same time, where possible, or stack them one after the other.
